  • My backyard

    My Backyard was created for those who are homeless and are turned away at shelters for various reasons during the cold season. Billings First Congregational Church works with the Crisis Center and many volunteers to house these people overnight, and make sure that they have a warm and safe place to rest.     The Phoenix offers a free sober active community to individuals who have suffered from a substance use disorder and to those who choose a sober life. Using a peer support model, we help members heal and rebuild their lives while also striving to eliminate stigma around recovery.

    Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley is a community of 27 Billings Congregations and 1400 volunteers that provide meals, shelter, guidance, and case management for homeless families. It is a Program about compassion and accountability, and families are expected to work hard to accomplish their goals and regain housing. Billings First Congregational Church is just one of the many churches in the community that helps support and house those in need. What to expect

We are in downtown Billings, Montana at 310 N 27th Street (click here for Google Maps and Directions)

Our church has ample parking with free parking on Saturdays and Sundays across the street from the main doors.


  • Sunday School and Adult Forum at 10:00 a.m.
  • Worship begins at 11:00 a.m.
  • Coffee and conversation before and after the service
  • Nursery provided. The Nursery is on the same level as the Sanctuary and there is a play area in the back of the Sanctuary for older children to use during the service. Children are encouraged to come forward for the time for all ages during the Sunday worship service.
